A Bit About Me
Why did you want to become a Peer Recovery Coach?

I wanted to become a recovery coach because I know it’s something I am good a, and passionate about. through my own experiences I am passionate about helping those who struggle because I have been there!
What does Recovery look like to you?

To me it’s about believing that your future can be better than your past, and no matter what setbacks you face you choose to get up and keep going rather than letting it consume your mind, thoughts, and life. Recovery looks different to everyone, it’s not a linear path, what works for one may not work for another. It’s about rediscovering who you are without the use of drugs the real, raw you. It’s about feeling things rather than numbing them. it’s when you realize life is about living and not just surviving! Its hard, its messy but it is so worth it!!

What is your favorite part about being a Peer Recovery Coach?

My favorite part about being a recovery coach is getting to walk alongside those who are struggling. To be able to provide them with hope through my own experiences and show them firsthand there’s a better way to live and that recovery is possible. I think it’s a beautiful thing that someone who has overcome addictions and once was stuck in a place where they didn’t see any other way can flip the script and use there trials as a testimony to help those still suffering!

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy spending time with my kids and being outdoors. My favorite hobby is mushroom hunting.
What does it mean to you to work at LITE?

Getting this opportunity has been a true blessing and an answered prayer. I feel so grateful to become a part of the team at LITE. and I’m excited to grow, eager to learn, and passionate about making a difference in the lives to those we serve.
How do you use your story to help those with who you work with?

I want to use my story to help those I work with by being a beacon of hope to them because I can relate on a deep level to the trials they face and the pain they feel. I want to show them that I, amongst many others are living proof that a better life does exist and we do recover!
