A Bit About Me
How did you first get introduced to LITE?

A few years ago I was looking into ways to get more involved in the community outreach work I was doing. LITE was hosting a Peer Recovery Coach certification training and I was very impressed with how welcoming they were.
What do you do as a CPSP for LITE?
As a Certified Peer Support Professional I help connect people to resources and offer one on one support and advocacy for people. I am also involved in community and street outreach, distribute harm reduction supplies, and provide overdose response trainings.
What do you like to do for fun?

Getting lost in nature, creating art, hanging out with the people and pets I love, and immersing myself in a good tabletop or videogame are some of the activities I enjoy when I am not on the clock.
What does it mean to you to work at LITE?

Commitment to community, continued education, and helping others see that we are all worthy of hope and healing.
How do you use your story to help those with who you work with?
Whatever you are struggling with, you are not in it alone. There are people who have shared experience that are invested in your wellbeing and will provide support that many may not receive anywhere else.
Reflection Question: Your Three Truths
Imagine yourself far in the future, looking back on a full and meaningful life. You’ve built the life you hoped for, reached your goals, and created the family and impact you wanted. Everything you’ve worked toward has come together.
Now imagine that none of the details of your life remain. No social media, no journals, no stories or records. All of it is gone.
You are allowed to leave behind just three truths about your life.
These are the lessons you know to be true. The beliefs or values that guided you. The wisdom you would want others to carry forward.

Questions to answer:

What are the three truths you would leave behind?
Thoughts and feelings are not necessarily facts so be careful which ones you listen to.
Never stop seeking to expand your understanding of the world around you.
You’re allowed to change. Your mind, your scenery, and your life, at any time.
What lessons would you want people to remember and learn from your life?
You deserve peace. You do not have to entertain the company of those who do not encourage your growth and wellbeing. Giving is a great way to foster your own wellness, but do not give so much that you have nothing left for yourself. Strive to look at the world from multiple perspectives, and in a world often focused on darkness, be a beacon of light.
