About LITE
LITE (Living in Transition Effectively) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their journey to recovery, healing, and successful reentry into the community. We believe that everyone is recovering from something, and we’re here to offer hope, help, and a way forward. What began as a jail reentry program has grown into multiple different entities and services that we offer. We operate out of the Milford Methodist Meeting House in Milford, Indiana, and are supported by a devoted team of staff, volunteers, and peer recovery professionals.
Our Mission
To assist individuals in every stage of their recovery journey by offering personalized support, access to essential resources, and connection to a compassionate community. We provide educational, vocational, spiritual, and relational support and training to help people build a self-directed plan for lasting recovery.

Our Philosophy
We believe in all pathways to recovery. Though inspired by the faith of our founders, LITE is open to individuals of all beliefs. Our work is guided by the Four Dimensions of Recovery: Home, Health, Community, and Purpose.
LITE empowers individuals to overcome barriers through compassion, lived experience, and practical guidance. Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in connection.
Get Involved
LITE is fueled by community support. We welcome both in-kind and monetary donations, which directly impact the services we offer. Sponsorships help fund vital programs and give visibility to recovery and social responsibility.
