A Bit About Me
How did you first get introduced to LITE?

I first became acquainted with LITE in the Kosciusko County Jail when they would bring the book cart around to the cell blocks. Once I was released into drug court and staying at Fellowship Mission in Warsaw IN, that is when I started attending the Recovery Cafe.
What do you do as the Transportation Coordinator for LITE?

As the Transportation Coordinator, I am responsible for a few different programs that LITE already has in place and a new one that we are currently in the process of implementing. I am responsible for setting up the ride schedule for member pickup for all 3 cafe days each and making sure that we have drivers available to run the van, also mileage data spreadsheets for the LITE Hub data. I facilitate our LYFT rideshare program for people who need help getting to and from appointments, doctor visits etc. I also am working on facilitating a new Vanpool program that will help people in our community with transportation to and from work.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to do crafting and woodworking.
What does it mean to you to work at LITE?
It means everything to me! Never in my life would I have expected to have the opportunity to get up every day and work with the same people who helped guide me through the worst time in my life. It's amazing! I was told a long time ago that to achieve your goals and grow in areas "be the dumbest person in the room", in a sense I have been able to do that...How TRULY UPLIFTING it is!
How do you use your story to help those with whom you work with?
I hope my story will help at least one person to be inspired by the fact "WE CAN CHANGE, WE DO RECOVER!". If I can take the path that I was on and do a complete 180, anybody can!
I want you to imagine that you are the great-great-grandmother/grandfather that you dream of being, and you’ve created everything you wanted to create in your life. You’ve accomplished all the dreams, all the big goals that you’ve set. You’ve made them happen. You’ve got the family of your dreams. You’ve done it all. But you have to take everything with you. You have to take everything with you so that no one has access to your information anymore…all your social media content, journals, etc, it’s all gone. But you get to write down the three things you know to be true about your life, the lessons you would leave behind. All people would have to remember you by are these lessons.
What would you say are your three truths? From the top of your head… What lessons would you want people to take away from your life?
My 3 truths are:
1. I lived my life to its fullest.
2. I never gave up or gave in.
3. I did my best! I want people to take away from life to never give up when it seems like you're not going make it, THIS TOO SHALL PASS and it's ALWAYS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN!
