A Bit About Me
Why did you want to become a Peer Recovery Coach?

I have been on my recovery journey for 16 years soon to be 17. I have worked with a multitude of women through 12 step programs. I wanted to become a recovery coach to learn how to better serve the community I work with and learn the professional side of recovery.
What does Recovery look like to you?

Recovery is the best opportunity to have spiritual growth. It is like a diamond with many different facets to it. Recovery is ever evolving and growing in me, through me and with me. Recovery has become my life.
What is your favorite part about being a Peer Recovery Coach?

Learning how others (peers), work their recovery, helping them find resources that do work for them.
What do you like to do for fun?

My most favorite fun thing is to go shopping, I like Kayaking, also like watching crime stories.
What does it mean to you to work at LITE?

Working for LITE is a great honor. I have been trying to be a part of LITE for a few years, and finally became a member in May.

How do you use your story to help those with who you work with?

Through my lived experiences I can let people know that they can make it through what they are facing because I had been through some of it also and they don't have to go through the struggle alone, because I am here for them.
I want you to imagine that you are the great-great-grandmother/grandfather that you dream of being, and you’ve created everything you wanted to create in your life. You’ve accomplished all the dreams, all the big goals that you’ve set. You’ve made them happen. You’ve got the family of your dreams. You’ve done it all. But you have to take everything with you. You have to take everything with you so that no one has access to your information anymore…all your social media content, journals, etc, it’s all gone. But you get to write down the three things you know to be true about your life, the lessons you would leave behind. All people would have to remember you by are these lessons.
What would you say are your three truths? From the top of your head… What lessons would you want people to take away from your life?

1. Be flexible.

2. There is no good reason to use a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

3. Life is good even when I don't know it.

The take away is: that no matter what - God does not abandon us.
